I was lucky enough to be invited out to East Coast Wildflowers in Mangrove Mountain for their Walking on the Wildside day, and what a beautiful day it was.

It was a hot one, around 30 degrees, but being surrounded by Australian native flowers made it pretty easy to forget the heat!

I was there to do a couple of live floral demonstrations, creating a large and a small vase arrangement using flowers grown right there on the farm. It was such a treat to work with the flowers in their natural surroundings and share a little bit about how I like to arrange them.

It was also a bit of a family affair, with my mum and my daughter joining me for the day. Three generations of flower lovers!

We started with a walk around the farm with Craig and the East Coast Wildflowers team, followed by lunch, live music and plenty of time admiring all the incredible native blooms.

The best part was knowing that 100% of ticket sales were donated to the Barbara May Foundation, supporting their important work in maternal healthcare across East Africa.

A beautiful day, beautiful flowers and a wonderful cause.
